The 2025 Zeitz MOCAA Curated Art Trip to Kigali and Musanze in Rwanda and Kampala in Uganda is a personalized and curated immersive experience of artistic production and creative communities within these vibrant locales. Personally led by Executive Director & Chief Curator Koyo Kouoh, alongside co-host Kami Gahiga and Daudi Karungi who share their local expertise, this art trip will offer a truly unique, insightful, fun and meaningful view on contemporary practices in Africa’s centers from the lens of African experts.

RWANDA
Kigali: Meet the founders and artists at Inema Arts Center, meet the Kigali Triennale founders, tour the Pink Mango factory with CEO Maryse Mbonyumutwa and enjoy a private showing of Rwandan fashion brand Asantii, enjoy local street food in Biryogo, and learn about the countries history at a tour of the Genocide Memorial.
Musanze: Visit The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and meet the architects from MAAS Design Group.
UGANDA
Kampala: visit the studio of many prolific artists including Sanaa Gateja, Acaye Kerunen, Theresa Musoke, and more, tour 32° East art center, AfriArt Gallery and Xenson Art Space, see the gallery and art departments at Makerere University, and be embraced by the vibrant energy of Kampala on the go!

Steps to join us
The $5,000 participation contribution per person includes on the ground transport, meals, and experiences as part of the 5-day schedule, as well access to host expertise led by Koyo Kouoh.
*Space is limited to 20 people.
Guests are responsible for booking flights to Rwanda, between Rwanda and Uganda, and departing Uganda, accommodation and arrival and departure airport transfers (*a bus will be provided from Entebbe airport to the Latitudes hotel mid- tour), securing visas, travel insurance and personal activities outside of the schedule.

Return flights depart from Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in Uganda.

Visas and yellow fever certificates
All passports must be valid for at least six months after entry to Rwanda and Uganda. All visitors to Rwanda and Uganda require a visa and these can be obtained online for a small cost. Please apply at least 3 weeks prior to traveling.
Inoculation certificates for yellow fever are mandatory for both Rwanda and Uganda as well as for your visa application which can be obtained easily from a doctor or medical facility prior to leaving. *Kindly note: This is a guide only and information may change without notice. Please check all requirements prior to travelling.
Travel Insurance
All participants are required to have adequate travel insurance cover, which must include the following as a minimum requirement:

Emergency Medical Expenses including, amongst other costs: rescue, ambulance, medical charges and repatriation;

Cancellation or curtailment of your trip should it become necessary (e.g, medical reasons);

Personal Liability to include damage caused by your (or your party’s) negligence to the property in which you are staying;

Travel and transfer delays which must include amongst other costs additional costs incurred in the event of a delay;

The policy must cover the period from the date of booking to the last day of the tour, and may not include a clause allowing the insurer to cancel the policy nor vary the terms usually following medical reasons unless there has been individual underwriting with specific terms.
In the event that you fail to obtain suitable Travel Insurance, Zeitz MOCAA shall not be liable for any costs incurred or claims made against us for losses that would have been provided for under the insurance policy.
